Several years ago, a close friend vacationed on Hilton Head South Carolina with his family. I asked him if he would take pictures of the sun rising and setting over the waters and moving across the horizon during the day. I created these “Fire and Water” paintings from those photographs. I used watered-down acrylic glazes on watercolor paper to simulate the flow and motion of the water.
